One of the greatest danger we face in our walk with God is not rebellion, but forgetfulness. Revelation 2:4-5 challenges you to remember your first love, and return to a genuine relationship with Christ instead of simply going through religious routines. When you forget The Gift, that is the Holy Spirit, you slowly forget the Giver Himself. Remember where God brought you from and remember His promises. Faith rooted only in the blessings of God and the things you can gain, is fragile, but faith rooted in pure reverence for God will sustain you through every season and circumstance. Pentecost was never just about an emotional experience—it was about God dwelling within His people so they could live transformed lives and make disciples daily. This week, take time to reconnect with your “first love” and rekindle your devotion to Christ. Take time to pray, worship, read the Word, and ask God to renew your heart so you can live daily in the power and purpose of His Spirit. Use the gift He placed within you to impact the world beyond Sunday service and encourage others back to God. What remains in your life—no matter how small, overlooked, or imperfect—is not accidental. Through the story of Gideon, you see that God doesn’t choose the most obvious or the most equipped—He chooses what remains. Gideon was uncertain, hesitant, and even doubtful, yet God used him and reduced his resources to show that victory comes from divine purpose, not human strength. Instead of shrinking back, hiding your light, or questioning your worth, you are called to trust God, embrace your assignment, and recognize that you are part of the “remnant”—set apart for impact. 1 Kings 18:21 helps us to understand what it truly means to stand firm in your faith when circumstances are difficult. “How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him.” Remember that standing when it’s hard requires obedience—even when it’s uncomfortable. Like Elijah, you may be called to step into difficult situations, face opposition, or speak truth when it would be easier to stay silent. Obedience does not wait for perfect conditions; it requires willingness, not readiness. And when you stand in faith and obedience, God shows up with power. Stop wavering. Identify where God is calling you to stand firm—whether in your faith, your decisions, or your actions. This week, take one bold step of obedience, even if it feels uncomfortable. Trust that you don’t have to be perfect—you just have to be willing—and believe that when you stand, God will show up. God’s favor is His unearned grace that brings protection, provision, and opportunity into your life. You just have to trust that God’s plans for you are intentional, even when seasons feel uncomfortable or unclear. Noah found favor with the Lord through his obedience. Noah followed God’s specific instructions in a corrupt world, even when it meant standing alone. David experienced God’s favor not by wearing Saul’s armor to face Goliath, but by being exactly who God called him to be. Favor does not mean the absence of giants—it means God’s presence and power with you in the fight. Favor often works behind the scenes. God may allow challenges, delays, or uneasiness to position you for something greater. When you remain faithful where you are, He opens doors that no one else can. Walk in obedience and trust God’s process. Be faithful with what He has placed in your hands, even when it feels small or difficult. Stay where He tells you to stay, move when He tells you to move, and believe that His favor will guide, protect, and elevate you in His perfect timing. Happy Black History Month! Suffering is not an accident of the Christian life—it is part of the calling of following Christ. Anchored in 1 Peter 4:1–2, you are challenged to adopt the same mindset Jesus had: since Christ suffered in the flesh, you are to arm yourself with that same way of thinking, no longer living for human desires but for the will of God. God uses suffering to sanctify you, weaken the grip of intentional sin, and deepen your faith. Through the emotional and physical suffering of Jesus—His betrayal, anguish, restraint, and ultimate sacrifice—you see the true cost of your salvation and the example you are called to follow. Jesus shows you how to suffer well: He prays, submits His will to the Father, and remains faithful even when the pain is overwhelming. “Not my will, but Yours be done.” Rather than escaping suffering through distractions or self-reliance, you are called to bring your pain, grief, and struggles fully before God. Fix your eyes on Jesus and choose to suffer well. In every trial, submit your emotions and circumstances to God, trust His will, and remain faithful. Because Christ suffered for you, live in a way that honors His sacrifice—walking in obedience, holiness, and unwavering faith. Faith grows through your relationship with God, not just through receiving answers to prayer. When Jesus says, “Ask, and it shall be given; seek, and you shall find; knock, and the door shall be opened,” He is inviting you into a deeper walk of trust and obedience. ASK — You are called to come to God with humility and dependence, acknowledging that you cannot do life on your own strength. Asking is not about demanding what you want — it is about surrendering your will and inviting God to work in your life. SEEK — You are challenged to pursue God beyond surface-level faith, to align your priorities with His Word, and to allow Him to reshape your desires, habits, and direction. Seeking means you actively chase God’s presence instead of convenience or comfort. KNOCK — You are encouraged to persevere in prayer and faith, even when life feels uncertain or prayers seem unanswered. Knocking reflects bold trust — choosing to keep believing, keep praying, and keep moving forward because you know God is faithful. Spiritual maturity is seen not only in how you pray, but in how you live, love others, and reflect Christ in your daily life.
