Pain is real, but it was never meant to become the place where you live. Through the life of Joseph, you are reminded that although others may intend harm, God can use every painful experience for His purpose and your good (Genesis 50:20). Like Joseph, you may face betrayal, rejection, false accusations, disappointment, or seasons of waiting, but those experiences do not mean God has abandoned you. Instead, He calls you to choose discipline over bitterness, trusting that He is still working behind the scenes. The message also reminds you that God is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18-19), that discipline keeps you moving when emotions tell you to quit (Hebrews 12:11), and that your greatest ministry may grow from your greatest wound. Your trauma may explain part of your journey, but it should never define your identity. Through Christ, your pain can become a testimony instead of a prison. This week, surrender every hurt to God. Continue to pray, worship, forgive, and trust Him even when healing feels slow. Refuse to let your pain define your future, and allow God to transform your deepest wounds into a testimony that brings hope and healing to others. Date: Sunday July 26, 2026 - Youth Day Speaker: Elder Adrias Schwartz Sermon Title: Don't Let Your Pain Become Your Prison Scripture References: Genesis 50:20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. Genesis 37:1-8 And Jacob dwelt in the land wherein his father was a stranger, in the land of Canaan. 2 These are the generations of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brethren; and the lad was with the sons of Bilhah, and with the sons of Zilpah, his father's wives: and Joseph brought unto his father their evil report. 3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours. 4 And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him. 5 And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more. 6 And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed: 7 For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf. 8 And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words. Psalms 34:18-19 18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. Hebrews 12:11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- St. James Pentecostal Church The Powerhouse Center 630 Auburn Ave, Swedesboro, NJ 08085 Pastor James A. Today’s culture continually challenges biblical values, but God has entrusted parents with the responsibility to lead the next generation toward Christ. Children as God's heritage, arrows meant to be intentionally prepared and launched with purpose. Children need more than good behavior; they need transformed hearts through Jesus Christ. Parents are challenged to model authentic Christian living by making prayer, Scripture, forgiveness, and faith part of your everyday life. Rather than parenting through fear, you are called to trust God, faithfully plant spiritual seeds, and remember that only He gives the increase. Even in a broken world filled with temptation and uncertainty, Christ's promise remains true: "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." (John 16:33). This week, be intentional in the way you lead by example for the children in your life. Pray with them, teach them God's Word daily, and trust God to accomplish what only He can do. Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned Proverbs 22:5 Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it. Philippians 4:9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you. 1 Corinthians 11:1 Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:7 So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. One of the greatest danger we face in our walk with God is not rebellion, but forgetfulness. Revelation 2:4-5 challenges you to remember your first love, and return to a genuine relationship with Christ instead of simply going through religious routines. When you forget The Gift, that is the Holy Spirit, you slowly forget the Giver Himself. Remember where God brought you from and remember His promises. Faith rooted only in the blessings of God and the things you can gain, is fragile, but faith rooted in pure reverence for God will sustain you through every season and circumstance. Pentecost was never just about an emotional experience—it was about God dwelling within His people so they could live transformed lives and make disciples daily. This week, take time to reconnect with your “first love” and rekindle your devotion to Christ. Take time to pray, worship, read the Word, and ask God to renew your heart so you can live daily in the power and purpose of His Spirit. Use the gift He placed within you to impact the world beyond Sunday service and encourage others back to God. Date: Sunday May 24, 2026 Remember The Gift Speaker: Brother Andre Schwartz Scripture Reference: Revelation 2:4-5 4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. 5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. Proverbs 18:24 24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. Ezekiel 36:26 26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. Acts 2:17 17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: Acts 2:1–4 - The Story of Pentecost ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- St. James Pentecostal Church The Powerhouse Center 630 Auburn Ave, Swedesboro, NJ 08085 Pastor James A. What remains in your life—no matter how small, overlooked, or imperfect—is not accidental. Through the story of Gideon, you see that God doesn’t choose the most obvious or the most equipped—He chooses what remains. Gideon was uncertain, hesitant, and even doubtful, yet God used him and reduced his resources to show that victory comes from divine purpose, not human strength. Instead of shrinking back, hiding your light, or questioning your worth, you are called to trust God, embrace your assignment, and recognize that you are part of the “remnant”—set apart for impact. Even when you feel like you are in your left over season, trust that God preserved it for a reason. Step forward, let your light shine, and allow Him to use you right where you are. Remember: - God always starts with something that remains (The Remnant) - The Remnant requires refinement - Remnants release change Date: Sunday April 26, 2026 (Youth Day) Sermon Title: If God Kept It, He Plans To Use It Speaker: Elder Adrias Schwartz Scripture References: Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. 1 Kings 18:21 helps us to understand what it truly means to stand firm in your faith when circumstances are difficult. “How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him.” Remember that standing when it’s hard requires obedience—even when it’s uncomfortable. Like Elijah, you may be called to step into difficult situations, face opposition, or speak truth when it would be easier to stay silent. Obedience does not wait for perfect conditions; it requires willingness, not readiness. And when you stand in faith and obedience, God shows up with power. Stop wavering. Identify where God is calling you to stand firm—whether in your faith, your decisions, or your actions. This week, take one bold step of obedience, even if it feels uncomfortable. Trust that you don’t have to be perfect—you just have to be willing—and believe that when you stand, God will show up. God’s favor is His unearned grace that brings protection, provision, and opportunity into your life. You just have to trust that God’s plans for you are intentional, even when seasons feel uncomfortable or unclear. Noah found favor with the Lord through his obedience. Noah followed God’s specific instructions in a corrupt world, even when it meant standing alone. David experienced God’s favor not by wearing Saul’s armor to face Goliath, but by being exactly who God called him to be. Favor does not mean the absence of giants—it means God’s presence and power with you in the fight. Favor often works behind the scenes. God may allow challenges, delays, or uneasiness to position you for something greater. When you remain faithful where you are, He opens doors that no one else can. Walk in obedience and trust God’s process. Be faithful with what He has placed in your hands, even when it feels small or difficult. Stay where He tells you to stay, move when He tells you to move, and believe that His favor will guide, protect, and elevate you in His perfect timing. Happy Black History Month!
