Our Church Community
At St James Pentecostal Church - The Powerhouse Center, our doors are open to every soul seeking to welcome Jesus Christ into their hearts. We foster a community where we teach individuals to show their love for The Lord and for one another through worship and community service. We welcome all individuals seeking God’s love. We teach the doctrines of our Savior in prayer, and invite you to open up your hearts and allow his grace to penetrate into your soul and being.
Our History
St James Pentecostal Church - The Powerhouse Center, was founded in 1962 as Gospel Center Church of God In Christ when the ministry was started by Elder James A Schwartz Sr. and his brother Elder Choyce Schwartz and their families. The church later moved to its current location in 1969. The mission of this ministry coincides with the Great Commission of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; to spread the good news of Jesus Christ to all who will hear and lead the people in the way of salvation. We have made tremendous efforts over the years to service the community of Swedesboro in which our church resides.
